FUJI MECHANICAL FAILURE AGAIN PROVES FRUSTRATING

Posted on in Latest News

Under the shadow of Mount Fuji, the signs were once again good during testing as Webb and the Bykolles LMP1 car showed good pace in dry conditions. However, the problems started in qualifying and continued into the race, leading to yet another retirement. The custom engine this time being the cause. There is a feeling within the team that when all the components are running correctly, there is terrific pace but stringing together a consistent and long stint without any car failures is proving a challenge. A despondent but determined Webb commented:

“It really is frustrating to suffer another blow like this. The track here in Fuji is amazing and the fans are some of the best in the world. We’ve enjoyed such great support it’s a shame to let the fans down. We really hope we can get on top of our reliability issues for the next round in Shanghai and prove that we have the pace to be right up the sharp end. I can’t fault the efforts of the team, we’re all working hard to make this work and we will get there”.

Next up is the 6 Hours of Shanghai on the 6th November.
