Webb tests Formula Renault for first time (03/11/07)
During the week of the 22nd October Oliver had his first drive in the Formula Renault with the established team Fortec at Croft circuit. With Riki Cristodulu, Adriano Buzaid and Paul Rees all being drivers in 2007 and taking part in the test, Oliver had great drivers to compare his times to. While only thinking the day would be used to get used to the car in preparation for the competitive winter series, Oliver quickly adapted to the different aspects of the new car, impressing the team. By the end of the day Webb was only 4 tenths off the best time set in his first ever time in the car.
Formula BMW graduate, Oli Webb has chosen the championship winning Fortec Motorsport to engineer his bid for Formula Renault Winter Series glory.
The promising 16-year old rookie has chosen the Daventry-based outfit because of their experience and success in the championship, as he takes the next step on the single-seater racing ladder. The series is a natural progression for the Knutsford-born racer and will give him a useful experience of a more powerful car before he progresses to Formula 3 in the future.
Webb’s Winter Series campaign will kick-off on the Donington Park National Circuit on Saturday 3rd November.
