Oli claims 3rd in 2007 Formula BMW Rookie Championship
A weekend that started with heads down was quickly turned round. After a disappointing qualifying that saw Webb spin on cold tires and brakes, not being able to complete one lap it meant a grid slot at the back of the grid for Webb's first race. Qualifying 2 brought a more aggressive drive as Webb needed the points to finish 3rd in the rookie championship, a qualifying slot of 6th was much needed for race 2.
Race 1 of the ever changing Knockhill circuit saw a flag start as the lights were broken, this caused for a slow get away but a great recovery as Webb went from 21st on the grid to 9th! With heads now high for race 2 Webb was hoping for enough points to pip the championship podium and that is exactly what happened, Webb got his usual great start and gained 2 places on the first lap and pulled away throughout the race staying in 4th with consistently good times keeping up with the 3 in front.
Webb claimed 3rd in the 2007 rookie Formula BMW championship as well as the award for the most dedicated driver to the education and coaching programme including fitness, media and driver coaching, this awarded by Peter Walker.
